The Community Thanksgiving Dinner returns to the Most Holy Trinity Hall
SACO – The annual Community Free Thanksgiving Dinner at Most Holy Trinity Church returns on November 25 after a hiatus in 2020.
The meal, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, will be on Thanksgiving Day 22nd.
Mike Bolduc said he expected a lot of people to enjoy dinner, whether they are dining in the church hall, ordering takeout and picking up, or requesting delivery.
The volunteers will prepare 50 turkeys, enough to feed 1,000 people, Bolduc said, plus all the ingredients, desserts and drinks.
“If we want to reach 1,000 people, this will be the year,” he predicted.
Typically, the annual free Thanksgiving meal serves around 800 people.
The meal is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall, 271 Main Str. In Saco. All volunteers will wear masks, Bolduc said, and the public will be encouraged to do so too.
Orders must be placed by 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 22nd and can be placed by calling Mitch or Dave at 467-5357. Meals are delivered between 12pm and 1pm on Thanksgiving Day. Menus are available in the parish office of the Good Shepherd at 271 Hauptstrasse.
Take-away meals are picked up in the hall.
Dinner is free and everyone is welcome, say the organizers.
Anyone wishing to donate for dinner can send it to Knights of Columbus, PO Box 1487, Biddeford, ME 04005.
Organizers say the annual event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and a caring community, with special thanks to the Good Shepherd Parish.
