John Richard Anderson, prominent Chattanooga attorney, loving husband and father, went to see our Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the age of 65.

John was born on April 7, 1956 in Nashville to parents Robert (Bob) and Beatrice (Bea) and grew up in Goodlettsville, Tn. He was a Brock Fellow at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and attended law school at the University of Cincinnati at Toledo. He returned to Chattanooga to practice as a lawyer. He married Teresa Lynn Anderson and together they raised their daughter Lacy.

John loved working as a lawyer and helping his clients as he had worked for Grant, Konvalinka and Harrison law firm for the past 30 years. He specializes in commercial real estate law because “I can make two parties happy”. He has helped develop homes and shopping centers across Tennessee and Georgia. He was fond of his three grandchildren and said “yes” to every game and activity they could invent. On the weekends he built tree houses, putt-putt greens and swings for his grandchildren.

He was an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy novels. His skills in grilling ribs and prime rib were well known, and his pecan tarts were legendary. It was the first call for friends and family when problems needed to be resolved. A lifelong and faithful Christian, he taught the adult Sunday School class at Mountain Creek Church of Christ and directed VBS and youth activities for 26 years.

John was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Bea and is led by wife Lynn, daughter Lacy Windham MD, and her husband Eric, brother Steve and three grandchildren Lee, 11, Lake. survived (9) and lark (7).

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 23rd at 7pm in the chapel of the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson.

The visit will take place on Tuesday, November 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home before the service in the chapel.
