First Christian Church to offer free community lunch on Friday – BG Independent News

The First Christian Church of Bowling Green, 875 Haskins Road, will be serving its monthly Drive-Through Congregational Meal on Friday, March 11 from 5-6pm. As part of the FCC’s nutritional mission, this community meal is free and offered to anyone in need of a meal.

This month’s menu includes hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit cups and cookies.

In addition to the food, two food bags will be distributed, provided by St. Thomas More University Parish and the BG Christian Food Pantry. Attendees will also be offered a selection of breads and pastries provided by the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.

Volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provide assistance at the event, including the distribution of lunch bags and bread/pastries.

A pantry of toiletries will be available this month due to the generosity of First Presbyterian Church.

All are welcome and there is no charge for food, grocery bags or bread and pastries.

Participating in the Minimal Contact Dinner is easy. Participants must arrive at the church parking lot between 5pm and 6pm and remain in their cars. Volunteers take their orders, hand deliver the meals and direct them to breads and pastries. It is requested to follow the COVID precautions, especially for those who have not received the vaccination.
