Chester Bojanowski Obituary (2021) – Ocean Isle Beach, NC


Chester John “Chet” Bojanowski, 74, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Bolivia, NC

Chet was born in Washington on January 22, 1947, the son of the late Chester J. Bojanowski Sr. and Regina Jankowski Bojanowski.

Chet graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in 1964 and then attended the University of Mt. Union, Alliance, Ohio in 1968, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and later received his MBA from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1972 the financial world.

He attended Officers Candidate School and was drafted into the US Navy in 1968, where he proudly served on the USS Little Rock in Gaeta, Italy and the USS Biddle in Norfolk, Virginia.

Chet had a strong business and financial background of over 40 years. An entrepreneur in various sectors of the oil business and commercial real estate who expanded his leadership skills while serving in the US Navy and eight years with the Marathon Oil Company.

God has used these gifts as a source of strength and wisdom in Chet’s ministry in the Church and through For His Glory Ministries & Bible College, where he has served as vice president and treasurer since its inception in 1998.

A man with a strong faith in Jesus Christ, Chet served in both the Brookfield Assembly of God, Brookfield, Wisconsin, and the New Beginnings Community Church, Shallotte, NC

God turned Chet’s heart to the mission field as he served on construction trips to build churches and schools in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and El Salvador. He was also an important part of the FHG teams to Guatemala, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Zambia and Kenya.

At New Beginnings, Chet served on the finance and mission committees, participated in the ramp construction projects, and loved planning the logistics and activities of every mission trip to Puebla, Mexico.

More recently, his heart has turned to The Lord’s Miracle Acre project at NBCC to feed insecure families through local pantries and Brunswick Senior Resources.

Aside from spending time with his family, his other passions included fishing trips to Canada and skiing trips to Copper Mountain, Colorado, golf, the beach, boating, vacationing in Cancun, and cruising to everywhere.

His 52-year-old, loving Mrs. Dr. Kathleen Cassidy Bojanowski, Th.D .; two sons, Brian Bojanowski and wife Wendi from Rock Hill, SC, and Dan Bojanowski and wife Erika from Republik, Mo .; eight precious grandchildren, Peace, Blake, Josiah, Wyatt, Jubilee, Solomon, Reuben and Immanuel Bojanowski.

Visiting Hours was held at New Beginnings Community Church at 730 Whiteville Road, NW, Shallotte, NC 28470 on Saturday, October 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The celebration of life ministry began at noon, followed by a noon reception.

The funeral will be held with military honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg, NC, Monday, October 11, from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Pallbearers are Brian Bojanowski, Dan Bojanowski, Tom Chambasian, Frank Laurent, Blake Bojanowski and Josiah Bojanowski (honorary pallbearers – Daryl Andersen and Jeff Negle).
