Budding writers wanted for church workshop
Join Matthew Tett at All Saints’ Church in Westbury for the final session of their Saints Alive! Creative workshop program.
It will take place on Tuesday, August 24th, from 1pm to 4pm.
All that is required is a desire to write – no matter how experienced you are or have never written before – this session is for everyone and all materials are provided.
Beth Thomas, Churchwarden, said, “We were delighted to have over 30 people this summer who have been inspired, met and welcomed by the beautiful building.
“We are happy about the response and will see how we can continue the workshops in the future.”
The first two half day ceramics and art workshops were a huge success and people said, “It was a really nice day, everyone was very friendly”.
“Great experience, including a coffee break with cake! Met new people. I enjoyed the day to the full. I noticed things in church that I hadn’t seen before. ”
“It was awesome, but would have loved to stay longer! This is of great benefit to our church. ”
The saints live! Workshops aim to share the beautiful church building with the Westbury community and beyond and are supported by a Community Area Scholarship from Wiltshire Council.
The All Saints Church is now open to visitors every day. If you haven’t been there in a long time, why not stop by and rediscover it?
Recently installed informational banners were funded by a Cultural Recovery Fund grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Department of Digital, Culture, Music and Sport to support Westbury’s visitor economy.
These explain important parts of the church building and help visitors learn more.
Places for the creative writing workshop are limited and booking on Eventbrite or www.whtministry.org.uk is essential.
